Christians have been urged to embrace prayer, purity, good works, humility and perseverance to have eternal life.
Reverend Father Anthony Okoye, who gave the advice in his homily at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ifite-Awka, reminded Christians of the transient nature of man’s life and sojourn on earth, and explained that prayer, purity, good works and humility are needed for them to exercise dominion.
Reverend Father Okoye tasked them on good works as witnesses of Christ, and counseled them to strive for eternal life.
At the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit Awka, Venerable Dr Rex Kanu challenged Christians to live righteously in order to inherit God’s Kingdom.
Venerable Dr Kanu encouraged the congregation to preach Christ and win souls for Him, as well as pray for the nation and those in positions of authority, to enable them have concerns for the elect and try to reposition the country.
He pointed out that God’s kingdom awaits those, who confess and bear witness for him and called for preparations now so as not to be found wanting at the last day.
