Anambra State was the dominant force as the South Eastern Teams gathered for a badminton contest.

 

Team Anambra topped, winning a total of ten medals comprising of three gold, two silver and five bronze.

 

They were followed by the host state, Enugu which had two gold, five silver and three bronze medals while Abia State came third with two gold one silver and two bronze medals.

 

For three days the championship featured contests among seniors and U20 male and female players as well as among veterans, none of the teams went back blank as all featured on the medals table.

 

Meanwhile, Nigeria has been reinstated in the Final Round of the Basketball African League, BAL, for the 2023 edition.

 

This came as a result of several negotiations by the board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation led by Ahmadu Musa Kida, who report said made a case for Nigeria at the last window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 African Qualifiers, held in Abidjan.
