Anaku community in Ayamelum Local Government Area has joined other communities in the Local Government Area to send an appeal for an immediate intervention on flood ravaging their community.

 

The President-General of Anaku, Mr Paul Nwuba told the ABS that the natural disaster has become a routine and called for effective measures to end the ugly trend.

He appealed to the Anambra State Government and relevant agencies to quickly make available speed boats to rescue trapped victims and also pleaded for the release of relief materials to enable the displaced victims to survive the hard times.

 

For a community leader, Chief Innocent Onyigbo the flood took them unawares and submerged their entire farm land and sought financial support to recoup from the losses.

A Secondary School Teacher and farmer, Mr Ogugua Ikechukwu described the flood as devastating and appealed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to approach the World Bank and other donor Agencies for their aid.
