The remains of the late Madam Josephine Ekedunma Chinwuba have been laid to rest in her husband’s compound at Amikwo village, Awka, in Awka South Local Government Area.

 

The funeral service for the deceased took place at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka.

The funeral of the mother of five children and eleven grandchildren, who died at the age of ninety-three, was a celebration of life well spent based on positive testimonies that surrounded her life history.

 

In a sermon, the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim represented by Venerable Clement Mgbemena while describing the late Madam Chinwuba as a woman of peace who toiled all her life to positively impact lives and promote the work of God, charged Christians to follow peace with all men as their stay on earth is just for a while.

In separate interviews, two sons of the deceased, Chiefs Chukwurah Chinwuba and Fredrick Chinwuba described their mother as a unique woman whose legacies cannot be erased from the sands of time, promising to ensure that the love she ignited in the family continues.

 

On their parts, the daughters of the deceased, Mrs Edith Chinwuba-Onugha, Mrs Julie Chinwuba-Obi, and Mrs Stella Chinwuba- Anyikwa while thanking God for their mother’s life, promised to toe her footsteps, as according to them, their late mother was an epitome of true motherhood and example of a real Christian, praying for eternal repose of her soul.

For a relative of the family, Chief Obi Kachi, late Madam Chinwuba immortalized herself through her unique lifestyle she replicated in her children when she was alive, and expressed hope that the children will not deviate from good things they learnt from their late mother.

 

The Governor nominee of Rotary International District 9142 Professor Austin Nnonyelu, a former Presidential Adviser Chief Ben Ndi-Obi among others attended the funeral ceremony.
