It is now cliche to say that a prophet is not recognized in his home town. But for Chief Sir Eric Kanayo Eze (Ọchịagha Orumba), the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, he is one “prophet” that is loved, venerated, supported and recognized by his people. No wonder, last weekend in Lagos, he was unanimously endorsed by the who is who in the constituency who cut across party lines, religious class and the corporate community. At the event, he also unveiled his manifesto for the forthcoming election.

The colourful event, which signifies the flag off of his political journey to the green chambers was well attended. The endorsement has the seal of the likes of the President of Orumba Forum and immediate past Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc, Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo, Chief Dr. Raymond Obieri, OON, former President of Nigerian Stock Exchange and former Intercontinental Bank Chairman, Ambassador David Ewenike, Dr. Sir Jonah Eze, Chief Obi Okafor (Obichiri Uzo 1 na Oko), Barrister Emeka Eze, Pastor Engr. Cliff Ejim, Hon Prince Nevile Uchendu, the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South, and the leadership of Umunze Progressive Union, Lagos branch led by the Chairman, Chief Ifeanyi Nwafor.

At the gathering, the stakeholders threw their full weight behind the APGA candidate describing his wide range technocratic experience as what Orumba needs at the moment for the constituency to advance to the next level. They placed emphasis on his rare humility, leadership acumen, respected background, high discipline and utmost integrity as signatures of trust.

As such, it is not surprising that these caliber of leaders from Orumba are supporting Ochiagha to represent the good people of the constituency. Their support is hinged on the track record and the social capital that Ọchịagha present for his people. Born to the legendary business icon, philanthropist and community leader, Sir Jonah Eze, Anaeriaku of Umunze, Sir Eric is believed to be a chip of the old
