Governor Chukwuma Soludo has promised that his administration will stop at nothing in making sure that the agenda of building a livable, sustainable and smart city becomes a reality.
Government House Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that Governor Soludo gave the assurance while having an interactive session with ndi Anambra, with emphasis on governance, policy and programmes of the state government.
Governor Soludo discussed among other issues, his achievements within the past seven months, what is yet to come, security, health, technology, human resource development, agriculture, economy, youth empowerment, waste management among other critical areas.
The phone in programme allowed Ndi Anambra to make input through questions and suggestions.
Speaking on infrastructure, Governor Soludo said that a state of emergency has been declared on Anambra roads, which the effect will soon become visible.
Noting that Anambra has a road crisis, Governor Soludo assured of constructing roads with strategic importance priority.
On waste management, Governor Soludo explained that the policy shift witnessed was to enthrone effectiveness, noting that Anambra must be clean in other to be livable and prosperous and revealed that the house-to-house waste collection initiate will soon take effect.
Reacting on the issue of taxation and revenue generation, the Governor said that his administration will operate a tax system that will be very fair on the poor, and will ensure the revenue of the state goes to the government for the provision of basic infrastructure to ndi Anambra.
He assured of prudence in management of Anambra resources and to give value to ndi Anambra using their tax money.
On education and health, Governor Soludo promised affordable and quality education and healthcare services that will be technology-driven.
Speaking on law and order, the Governor reaffirmed his resolve on zero tolerance to criminality and touting in Anambra state.
Assuring that the state is prepared to train and empower any one that turn a new leaf, Governor Soludo said that anyone caught will face the law.
The Governor, during the program, assured of commitment to democratize governance at the community level to prevent community crisis.
Callers during the session including, Mr Chimezie Nwafor, Chinedu Okafor, among others, made their suggestions and commended Governor Soludo for keeping to his promises.
The event was co-anchored by the Managing Director of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist, Anambra State council, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, among others.
