To support the effort of the Anambra State Government in alleviating the plights of persons affected by deluge, the International Breweries Plc has presented food items worth about five million naira to affected persons in Ogbaru Local Government Area.

 

The items were received by the Chairman Transition Committee of the Local Government Area, Mr. Pascal Aniegbuna at one of the holding centres housing over Two Hundred persons.

Also present at the camp was the Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area for the disaster, Mr. Ben Nwasike, Members of the State Emergency Management Agency, some of the community stakeholders including Sir Somtochukwu Udeze and Mr Noble Igwe, among others

 

Presenting the items, the Plant Manager, International Breweries PLC, Onitsha Mr. Fidelis Igwe, stated that the relief material is their way of reciprocating the friendly accommodation by people of the area within the past years, adding that they will ensure that the materials are evenly distributed among the affected persons.

Receiving the items, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area, Mr Aniegbuna appreciated the International Breweries PLC for the show of love at this critical time.

 

Speaking to the ABS in an interview, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the International Breweries Plc Onitsha, Mr. Damian Igwe said they were pained by the untold hardship being experienced by the people as a result of the deluge which prompted their humanitarian visit to assist the people in their own capacity.

Some of the affected persons including Mrs. Patience Obidiegwu and Miss Chisom Ewetu appreciated the international Breweries PLC for remembering them in their time of need and prayed for God’s blessing on them.
