The Archbishop Ecclesiastical province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim says any Minister of God without a church risk being a devil’s workshop.

Speaking at Saint Mark’s Parish Umuawulu in Awka South Local government Area during a retreat organized for would be priests in Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Ibezim described as ridiculous the large number of persons being ordained Ministers of God without churches where they will serve.

He said that Awka Diocese has a standard for ordaining Priests which he said will continue to be maintained.

Most Reverend Ibezim who expressed his belief of leaving Awka Diocese more prosperous in both infrastructural development and evangelism in the next ten years called on both the clergy and laity to see the work of evangelism as a collective responsibility.

He charged Ministers of God to always reach out to the people especially the sick as part of efforts aimed at winning souls for Christ.

Most Reverend Ibezim cautioned the people against bringing local politics inside the church stressing the need for the sanctity of the church to be maintained as a place where powers are received through prayer

Present during the retreat were the Administrative Assistant to the Archbishop Venerable Rex Kanu, Awka Diocesan Clerical Synod Secretary Venerable Clement Mgbemena, President Council of Laity in Awka Diocese Sir Emma Ezenwaji as well as the Bishop Emeritus of Isikwuato/Umunnochi Diocese Right Reverend Sam Chukwuka among others.
