Awka community has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for appointing some illustrious individuals from the community into his administration.

 

The traditional ruler of Awka community Obi Gibson Nwosu who stated this when the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko visited him in his palace, maintained that series of appointments being made by the Governor is a clear indication that he is prepared to serve the people of Anambra State.

Obi Nwosu expressed the hope that with the appointment of an indigene of Awka community as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA there is no doubt that Awka will continue to glow as the capital of Anambra State.

 

The traditional ruler of Awka community during the visit commended Governor Soludo for fulfilling his promise of appointing an Awka indigene, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority during the visit of Awka community to him.

He called on the people of Awka to support the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ACTDA Mr Onuko to enable him fulfill his responsibilities.

 

Obi Nwosu who commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for having a different approach to governance, reassured him of the support of Awka community, and reminded the people of Awka especially the youths of the need to avoid acts capable of bringing the name of the community to the mud.

 

In a remark the traditional Prime Minister of Awka community Chief Benjamin Okoye, and a one-time Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area Transition Committee Chief Leo Nwuba while describing the people of Awka as peaceful, hardworking and law abiding, called for prayers and support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo to enable him realize all his plans for Anambra State, and called on the people to always pay their tax and levies to enable the government serve them better.

Earlier the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ACTDA Mr Onuko thanked Obi Gibson Nwosu for the matured way he has been piloting the affairs of Awka community and disclosed that the aim of the visit was to seek his royal blessing.

 

He equally promised not to disappoint the people.

 

Present during the visit were representatives of all the thirty-three villages in Awka community and the Deputy President-General of Awka Development Union Nigeria Mr Onyebuchi Nwobu among others.
