Public Complaints Commission has directed Ndi Anambra to always seek redress for administrative and social injustice through the commission.
The federal Commissioner of the Commission representing Anambra State, Honourable Emelda Nwajiofor-Okoli, gave the directive during a courtesy visit to the Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu at the station’s corporate headquarters, in Awka.
According to the public Complaints Commission’s boss, the visit was to familiarize with the ABS and seek possible ways of collaboration to make Anambra a better place.
Commending the role ABS play in the state, Honourable Nwajiofor-Okoli, who said that the Commission remained the voice to the voiceless and hope of the downtrodden, urged the establishment to use its medium to enlighten the public to always seek redress for administrative and social injustice through the commission.
She disclosed that the Commission, which has inaugurated awareness and sensitization units at some council areas of the state has the responsibility of creating awareness on the activities of the Commission for people to lay their complaints free of cost.
The State Director of the Commission, Mr. Charles Ekwunife, said that the Commission was established with wide powers to inquire into complaints by members of the public concerning the administrative action of any public authority and companies or their officials.
Responding, Sir Chido, who stated that many publics in private and government sectors are suffering in silence as they are unaware of the place to lay their complaints, assured the commission of continuous relationship to ensure that all its objectives are achieved.
He appreciated them for the visit, and assured that ABS will keep disseminating happenings in government and private circles.
Sir. Chido expressed the passion of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, whose administration believes in transparency in which people should not be intimidated or be denied their rights.
Highpoint of the visit was the handover of some publications on information about the Commission to Sir Chido, and the Director News and Current Affairs Department of the establishment, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze.
