Governor Chukwuma Soludo says the standard of roads embarked upon by the present administration has never been done in Anambra before.
Governor Soludo who stated this during the flag-off ceremony for the Abagana -Nimo – Oye Agu Abagana road explained that what is outstanding about the road is that it has a minimum of twenty years life span, has stone base and concrete reinforcement, with fifty percent down payment for the contract.
The Governor who recalled that he declared a state of emergency on Anambra roads during the campaign season, said that Anambra has serious road challenges which his administration is gradually tackling.
While highlighting the strategic importance of the Abagana-Nimo Road, Governor Soludo, appreciated people of the community for their support before and after he assumed office.
The Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma explained that the five-point-twelve-kilometer road has two-hundred-millimeters stone base, with eight months completion date.
In his remarks, the APGA Standard bearer for Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Dr. Pete Ibida stated that the Governor has visited the road twice, a first by any sitting Governor, stressing that the road will be a wonderful network that will drastically reduce traffic and decongest adjoining roads.
Governor Soludo also flagged-off the Ugwuagba, Awada Obosi road which is seven-point-seven-nine-eight kilometers, with assurance that the road will be completed in eight months’ time.
The Governor while performing the function assured of his commitment to alleviating the sufferings of the masses by building strategic roads.
