Though many people may not know it, the hope of many communities has been revived following the laudable steps taken so far by the professor Chukwuma Soludo led administration in restoring their faith in governance.

His antecedents speak loudly for him as a man that live out his words. He is never known for starting what he cannot finish hence his careful study of situations and issues before wading in.

Improved security, controlled refuse disposal and massive flag off of strategic roads are just few of the many things the Governor has done within a handful of months in office

The flag-off of Amansea -Ebenebe- Awba Ofemmili road is a very significant initiative. This move will open up economic windows as the abundant arable land in that axis will attract commercial farmers ready to invest in massive production of rice, cassava and other staple foods and vegetables for local consumption and even export which will in turn boost the internally generated revenue of the state.

In addition, the road upon completion will aid transportation of people and farm produce from the hinterlands to urban areas, where they have ready market for their farm produce. Access to neighbouring states like Enugu and Kogi will also be enhanced on completion of that road.

Doing the ancient Amansea-Awa-Ufuma road will ease movement from the state capital to communities in Orumba North and South and even neighbouring towns in Abia State like Isuochi, Lokpa and others. Being a shortcut, it will solve the problem of going to those areas from the state capital through Umuawulu Awgbu, Oko axis. Above all, it will decongest the Agulu- Nanka-Ekwulobia road, thereby making the perennial traffic gridlock experienced on that road during festivities, a thing of the past.

As expected, the road will also boost the morale of farmers in the area towards increased production of food to serve the state and beyond.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has promised to construct two hundred and twenty kilometres of road before the end of this year. He also flagged off the Mmiata-Anam-Nzam road suggesting that the state is steadily heading to the promised land. For a very long time, Nzam, the headquarters of Anambra West had been abandoned due to its inaccessibility during the rainy seasons, shifting the local government administration to Umueze-Anam which is upland, leaving erected structures in Nzam to deteriorate. The good news is that this initiative will create access to Nzam and Inoma, one of the border towns of the state. Evacuating farm produce like rice, yam and fishes produced in large quantities by the people will also be made easy.

For the Igala speaking people of the state, constructing the Mmiata-Anam-Nzam road will give them a sense of belonging as inaccessibility to their area shuts them out from civilization. However, as Oliver Twist that will always ask for more, this passionate appeal goes to the Governor to consider constructing a short bridge to link Nzam to Odeh, Igwekenyi and others. These ndi Anambra can only access their homes through the river and sometimes go through Illah in Delta state.

It is appreciated that the work before Mr Governor is enormous and herculean but we are sure that ndi Anambra knew what they were doing, when they voted him in as Governor. It is believed that with the expected support from the people, the driver behind the steering of Anambra State is capable of wiping the tears of the people while transforming the state into a prosperous and liveable homeland.

Ndi Anambra and visitors to the state are assured that Anambra State under the watch of professor Chukwuma Soludo is safe, revived and steadily heading towards shining its light on the entire nation.
