The Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has stressed the need for everyone, especially politicians, to embrace the spirit of God and live according to his footsteps.

 

In a sermon at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith Awka during a service of confirmation and admission into Mothers’ Union and Girls’ Guild of the diocese, Most Revered Ibezim, who is also the Bishop, Diocese of Awka, while speaking on the theme ‘Living by The Spirit Power’, said that everyone is in battle field with man’s sinful nature, and that the only way to win the battle is by depending on the Holy Spirit.

He reminded the congregation of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, which include joy, peace, faithfulness, and encouraged politicians to allow the Holy Spirit to lead them at all times in order to make wise decisions that will better the lives of the masses.

 

Advising the newly admitted members of the Mothers’ Union and Girls Guild, the President of Women’s Ministry in the province, Mrs. Martha Ibezim encouraged them to always draw nearer to God in prayers and to make the word of God their daily companion, noting that the world is filled with uncertainties and that it requires the grace of God for one to conquer.

Speaking on behalf of the newly admitted mothers, the wife of the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Oluchi Ibezim promised to always uphold the teachings of Christ as it concerns godly family and to ensure they root their wards in Christ so as to become useful to the family and society at large
