Orumba South Local Government Area has received agricultural subsidies from the state government.
The Transition Committee chairman of the council area, Prince Neville Uchendu disclosed this in his welcome address during the flag-off of Ajali-Akpu-Nawfija-Ufuma-Ogbunka Road by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Prince Uchendu, who thanked Governor Soludo for his benevolence towards the council area, noted that within his six months in office, a new Igwe was peacefully coronated at Umuomaku Community after several years of tussles.
While commending him for his transparency, dedication and accountability, Prince Uchendu expressed happiness that Governor Soludo is determined to improve inter and intra community road networks to decongest traffic jams at critical junctions within the state especially during festive periods.
He noted that as a council area that has boundaries with Enugu, Abia and Imo States, they understand the insecurity challenges the state and Nigeria at large are facing and lauded Governor Soludo for strengthening the state security architecture.
He also extolled mr governor for his promise to leapfrog Anambra as an industrial hub which he has already started by siting a Pharmaceutical Hub in Ogboji Orumba South as well as for supplying them with palm and coconut seedlings in his bid to move the people from Oil to agriculture in revenue generation, noting that in less than five years, palm oil production will quadruple in Anambra state and give another alternative to crude oil.
Prince Uchendu also expressed joy on other numerous roads and other projects springing-up in the council area, adding that the road projects will certainly assist farmers in accessing farmlands and easy evacuation of Agric produce.
He however appealed for the reconstruction of Ogboji/Ndioklo Road, Onneh/Agbudu Road, Umunze/Umuchu Road and Umunze/Owerre-Ezukala Road by Zenith Bank, promising their unalloyed support and solidarity.
