A new Assistant Inspector-General of Police has assumed duty at Zone thirteen, Ukpo, comprising Anambra and Enugu State.

 

He is Mr Abutu Yaro.

 

He succeeded Mr. Umar Muri who retired from active service last week.

The deployment of former Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Assistant Inspector-General of Police Mr Abutu Yaro is part of efforts to sustain the high-level of security architecture in the State.

 

The new Assistant Inspector-General of Police after the inspection of guard of honour moved round the facility and exchanged pleasantries with management and staff of the zone.

In a speech, Mr Yaro said that he is in the zone to review, develop and sustain a positive security initiative that will reinvigorate confidence in the minds of the residents in the zone through deepening interaction with agencies and persons that are necessary in the security framework of the zone.

The new Assistant Inspector-General of Police was enlisted into the Nigeria Police as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent in 1988 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and has served the Police in various capacities.
