Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has called on more groups and individuals within and outside the state to continue to extend arms of love to victims of this year’s flood disaster in Anambra, to help them get over their predicaments.

 

Dr Ibezim made the call at the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA office in Awka, while receiving some relief materials from Ogbako Ndi Anambra, Delta Central and South group, led by Iruka Modunukwe, for persons affected by the flood.

 

Dr Ibezim, commended the forum for supporting the flood victims, saying that their action really portrayed the “Onye Aghana Nwanneya” mantra of Anambra state, and encouraged other groups and individuals to borrow a leaf from them.

 

The Deputy Governor promised that the Professor Soludo government is working towards proffering permanent solution to the flood disaster.

 

The Chairman of the group Mr Modunukwe, commended the efforts of Anambra state government towards cushioning the effect of the flood on the victims, saying that they provided the items to argument the state government’s efforts.

 

Items brought by the group include one hundred and fifty bags of rice, twenty cartoons of noodles and three hundred thousand naira.

 

The he state Commissioner for Entertainment, Culture and Tourism, Comrade Don Onyenji, Executive Secretary, SEMA, Chief Paul Odenigbo, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, office of the Deputy Governor, Mr Ugochukwu Obiefuna, were present at the event.
