Commuters plying Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu-Ugbene-Awbaofemmili road in Awka North Local Government Area now have positive stories to tell following the commencement of re-construction work on the
road by the Anambra state government.
Works correspondent Ngozi Obileri who monitored the condition of the road before its inauguration for re-construction by Governor Chukwuma Soludo reports that the road is now motorable From Amansea to Ebenebe.
From the Amansea by Enugu-Onitsha express road to parts of Ebenebe, ABS met men of GELD construction company handling the project carrying out earth work on the road with various equipment at their disposal.
Speaking on the development, some Motorists including Messrs Okey Morah, James Onwuzuluigbo including a tricycle driver Mr Usman Ibrahim said driving through the road before was very difficult despite the fact that past administration awarded the road, noting that they could now drive without stress since work commenced on the road.
They appreciated Governor Soludo for keeping to his promise.
The site Manager, Engineer Faddi Azzam said that they mobilized to site immediately after the inauguration because of the mandate given to them by the Governor and because of the deplorable condition of the road.
Engineer Azzam explained that the road will have drainage on both sides up to Awba-ofemmili and will have a life span of twenty years and above.
