Anambra state government reassures of reconstruction of more roads within the shortest possible time.

 

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA gave the assurance while speaking on their interventions on various road sites across the state.

Among the sites where intervention work was on going or has been completed were , Obanye-Old Bata axis of New Market road Onitsha, where desiliting of drainage on both sides of the road was also going on , Onitsha -Asaba Express Road by Toronto Hospital, Relief Market Ogbaru, Tarzan junction by Onitsha Owerri road, Toll Gate axis of Enugu-Onitsha express road, Nnobi -Nnokwa-Nnewi Junction Road as well as Amawbia -Nise axis of Amawbia -Agulu -Ekwulobia road.

 

Other areas were Shoulder portions of Enugu-Onitsha Express Road from the Anambra state Government House axis to Amawbia bypass, Oderaa Market axis of Ogbo olu, near Eke Awka.

Speaking to the ABS, the Managing Director of ARMA , Engineer Obinna Nduka said it was in line with the mandate given to them by Governor Soludo , to put all roads in order as soon as possible to put an end to hardship experienced by Ndi Anambra on those roads .

 

He explained that to ensure that the mandate was achieved , Governor Soludo has provided necessary funding and equipment needed to achieve this anlk

The ARMA MD disclosed that they would expand the intervention to more sites by next week now that the rains are over and because this time of the year records heavy traffic on the states roads due to the high number of markets in the state.

 

A resident of Onitsha Mr Chuks Osuagwu was full of appreciation to the Governor for his intervention on the failed portions of New market road where he said has been a nightmare to them.

At Oderaa Market Awka, some traders at the area including Messrs Linus Mouka, Solomon Chigbo ,Nnaemeka Nweke and Sunday Igwe … applauded efforts of Anambra state government in providing road infrastructure to Ndi Anambra as they lamented their plight on the condition of the road before the intervention.

 

Meanwhile, men of ARMA were seen laying stone base on the areas marked for intervention.
