The Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Honourable Ify Obinabo has been decorated as a peace ambassador by UN-PEPOLAC.

 

The decoration, which took place in her office in Awka, was witnessed by some members of the UN-PEPOLAC, led by Bishop Ozioma Ozoemena.

Decorating the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Bishop Ozoemena explained that the association chose her because of her numerous interventions for vulnerable children and women in the state as well as other measures she put in place to ensure a peaceful society.

 

Responding after her decoration, Commissioner Obinabor appreciated the association for finding her worthy and promised to do more by collaborating with relevant authorities and agency to see that women and children’s welfare is protected in the society.

The event, which attracted Igwe Emeka Ilouno of Ifitedunu Community and the chairman of UN PEPOLAC Special Project Committee, Archbishop Mike Chukwudum among others, featured presentation of award and decoration .
