The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor has stressed the need for the sanctity of the church to be maintained.
In a sermon at our Saviour Anglican Church Isulo, in Orumba south local government area during a service of confirmation and admission into the girls Guild and Mothers Union for all the parishes under the Ezira Archdeaconry, Bishop Ezeofor cautioned against acts capable of defiling the church as the only place where Powers are received through prayer.
Bishop Ezeofor who maintained that God abhors living in a defiled environment, charged the faithful to jettison sin in order to attract more of God’s mercy and blessings and regretted the high rate of idolatry in the society, especially among the youths who are the future leaders and charged Ministers of God to be alive to their responsibilities as soul winners.
He warned the faithful against running from Pillar to Post in search of miracles, reminding them that God is omnipresent and commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for inaugurating the reconstruction of many roads across the state and draw his attention to the deplorable condition of Our Saviour Isulo road linking Eziagu community to save the people of the area from untold hardship.
In their various remarks, the Archdeacon of Ezira Archdeaconry, Venerable Kamtoochukwu Obi and Vicar of our Saviour Anglican Church Isulo, Reverend Izuchukwu Ezeobi who thanked the bishop for the visit, charged all those that received the sacrament of confirmation and those that were admitted into the girl’s guild and Mothers Union to use their new positions in winning more souls for Christ.
Eighty-Six candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, twenty-five girls admitted into the girl’s guild, and Ten women admitted into the mothers Union during the service which was attended by some Diocesan officials and the president of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor.
One of those that received the sacrament of confirmation, Master Darlington Abazu, Miss Ijeoma Umeh who was admitted into the Girl’s Guild and Mrs. Obianuju Umeh who was admitted into the Mothers Union all promised to use their various positions to touch lives positively.
