Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has reminded mothers of the task before them in the struggle to save the home and society from total collapse.

Mrs Soludo, who stated this in Awka while addressing a women’s group, explained that mothers must wake up to certain responsibilities, as today’s society is plagued by issues that question parenting .

The governor’s wife asked parents to start by asking crucial questions about their homes, including the whereabouts of their children and wards as well as keep closer watch on their activities.

She stated that parents must also question the source of their children’s sudden wealth and keep close observation on the type of friends they keep and their overall way of life and noted that the homes take a large share of blame in the moral downturn of the present society even as she called for a review of family values, traditions and child raising methods.

Mrs Soludo noted that parents must always set exemplary standards for their children and wards, in all aspects of their lives.

The governor’s wife further called on relevant stakeholders, including schools, religious and community leaders, among others, to prioritize the campaign and pay more attention to issues that have direct consequences on family and society.

She reassured that her husband’s administration is committed to policies that will trickle that will benefit the society, and promised to continue to lend her voice to issues concerning Anambra women, children, homes and society.
