Anambra State Local Government Service Commission says it will organize a retreat for members for enhanced productivity.
The Chairman of the Commission Barrister Vin Ezeaka who disclosed this during an interactive session with the Heads of Local Government administration also restated the commission’s commitment towards entrenching a transparent system.
He reaffirmed their readiness in building and repositioning the Anambra State Local Government system for improved productivity and assured them of ending intimidation in their various workplaces.
In their separate remarks, the Member One Honourable Azubuike Okoye, and Member Two, Honourable Uchenna Okafor encouraged the Heads of Local Government Administration to build a positive working relationship with their respective chairmen and the entire Commission to foster productivity and growth.
Also speaking, the Member Three Professor Ngozi Ekwirim, advised them to maximize their full potential as the Commission is ready to embrace all the ideas they come up with.
In their reactions, the Heads of Local Government Administration, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Mr. Anthony Chidokwe, and his Idemili North counterpart, Mrs. Rita Obuekwe, pointed out some of the challenges facing the system, which include poor payrolling system, insecurity, lack of compliance to the scheme of service, workers regulations, among others and called for urgent intervention.
They further appealed to the Commission to collaborate with the state government in instituting financial independence for the Local Government as well as massive recruitment of workers to fill the existing vacancies.
