Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has rated Mater Amabilis Secondary School Umuoji, in ldemili North council area high for her continuous strides in making the State proud, both locally and internationally.
The Governor gave the commendation at the school premises, during the school’s sixtieth anniversary celebration.
Governor Soludo represented by the Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, expressed satisfaction with the efforts of the school, in representing the state in different competitions where they emerge winners.
He called on parents to endeavor to train their children in school because according to him, education is the best investment any parent can give a child.
Earlier in his homily, the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, urged the students not to relent in embracing the culture of excellence so that they will be distinguished both academically, morally and otherwise.
The ASUBEB Chair person, Mrs Vera Nwadinobi, thanked Archbishop Okeke for rebuilding the school, describing the College as one of the best in Nigeria.
Students of the Mater Amabilis, Umuoji, recently returned from Dubai after representing Nigeria in world academic competition, winning the covetous trophy.
During the mass to mark the Diamond Jubilee, Archbishop Okeke administered Sacrament of confirmation on over one hundred candidates .
