The Anambra State Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism is organizing a meet and greet programme this Wednesday for all the entertainers of Anambra extraction with a view to profiling and projecting them before the international community.

 

Correspondent Gab Alokwe reports that the Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism Mr Don Onyenji disclosed this during an ABS programme ‘issues’ in Awka.

 

The Commissioner said Anambra State has many hidden talented entertainers that need to be harnessed.

 

Mr Onyenji explained the agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo of turning Anambra into a leisure and entertainment hub with the aim of creating many job opportunities in the creative industry.

 

According to the Commissioner, the event which is scheduled to take place at the Hilton Leisure Hotel in Awka is expected to attract all entertainers of Anambra extraction who will be profiled for future engagements.

 

He called on communities in the State to provide land for children and leisure parks where people can go to socialize and enjoy themselves, thereby creating economic activities within the areas.

 

Mr Onyenji spoke about the governor’s intention of creating a social lifestyle in every city where people can visit to be entertained.

 

The Commissioner however listed some of the entertainers to include Disc Jockeys, Masters of ceremony, Comedians, Film makers, musicians, Dancers among others.

 

Mr Onyenji also said the State government may partner potential sponsors like Bank of Industry to assist the artists achieve their dreams.
