An Ultra-Modern Building of Ascension Anglican church Isiafor Obosi has been dedicated by the Bishop of the Niger Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo.

 

The event attracted the Clergy within and outside the State, political gladiators, the Chancellor Diocese on the Niger Sir Nnamdi Ibegbu, Legal practitioners, captains of industry among others.

Staff reporter Emengini Osadebe reports that Right Reverend Nwokolo in his sermon during the service, commended the parishioners for their dedication, commitment and doggedness in ensuring prompt completion of the church building stressing the need for Christians to strive to live their life in serving God and humanity.

 

The Bishop whose message centred on ” Dedication” told the congregation that they have the right of becoming the Children of God if only they can present themselves as a living sacrifice unto the Lord saying that God is demanding a genuine service from His children and advised Christians to make themselves available to God for the benefit of Mankind through spiritual service.

The Vicar, Ascension Anglican Church and the Archdeacon Ascension Archdeaconry Venerable Angus Umeh who expressed gratitude to God for his goodness upon the Archdeaconry, commended the parishioners for their efforts towards the success story of the church and prayed God to bless, multiple and provide for them.

 

A welcome address presented by the secretary dedication Planning Committee Mr Chris Chinwuba appreciated the encouragement, motivation and prayers of Venerable Angus Umeh and his wife, Flora as well as the doggedness and the tenacity of the church members towards the completion of the edifice.

In separate interviews the pioneer Chairman of the building committee Sir Metu Okeke and the present building committee Chairman Sir David Muoneke applauded the truthfulness and commitment among the building committee members while the Chairman dedication Planning Committee Sir Simon Omekodimma and the Treasurer of the Church Mrs Azuka Njelita expressed joy and gratitude to God for His grace in completing the church attributing it to prudent spending as well as transparency and accountability among members.

 

In their various remarks Honorable Ikenna Iyiegbu and Senator Victor Umeh commended the parishioners for erecting a befitting edifice for God adding that it can only take courage, commitment and the fear of God to erect such a building and advised the parishioners to cultivate maintenance culture.
