The Archbishop Ecclesiastical province of the Niger and Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim has charged Christians to remain steadfast in their service to God, despite some daunting challenges they are passing through.
In a sermon at saint Paul’s chapel of the federal government College Nise in Awka South local government area during a service of confirmation and admission into Girl’s guild and Mothers Union for the college Community, Most Reverend Ibezim who urged Christians not to be deterred with the series of challenges facing the Nigerian Nation, reminded the faithful of the need to be role models in order to continue winning souls for Christ.
Archbishop Ibezim, who described education as the only currency for the future, called on the federal government to always give priority to education sector by increasing its yearly budgetary allocation for enhanced teaching and learning and advised those that received the sacrament of confirmation and those admitted into the Girl’s guild and Mother’s Union to abide by their various vows and promises charging Christians to always see their body as God’s temple.
He urged Mothers to be alive to their responsibilities especially in the area of child upbringing, warning them against delegating their family roles to house- helps.
In a remark, the Wife of the chaplain of the chaplaincy and former coordinator of Girls guild in Awka Diocese, Mrs. Mary-Basil Orji, advised those that were admitted into the Girl’s Guild to begin early to prepare themselves as future Mothers by keeping themselves holy, pure and chaste.
A total of sixty-two candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, forty-six girls admitted into the Girl’s guild and three Women into the Mothers Union during the service which was conducted by the chaplain of Saint Paul’s chapel federal government College Nise, Reverend Canon Basil Orji.
