The state healthcare sector recently got a boost as Anambra State Executive Council, ANSEC, approved the joint memo presented by Commissioner for Health, Dr Afam Obidike and his housing counterpart, Honourable Paully Onyeka, to renovate three general hospitals in the state.
They are Ekwulobia, Enugwu-Ukwu and Umueri General Hospitals.
The contract covers the construction of male and female wards, General Out Patients Departments, GOPDs, and the renovation of other major facilities within the general hospitals.
The contract for Ekwulobia General Hospital, Aguata Local Government Area, was awarded to Harriest Millennium Estate Nigeria Limited at a contract sum of Two Hundred and Ninety Million, Five Hundred and Fifty-Three Thousand, One Hundred and Twenty-Five Naira, Sixty-Six Kobo.
The one for Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital, NjikokaLocal Government Area, was awarded to Chisuf Ventures Nigeria Limited at a contract sum of Three Hundred and Five Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty-Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty-One Naira, Thirty-One Kobo.
And for the Umueri General Hospital, Anambra East Local Government Area, Bid Engineering Limited won the contract at the sum of Three Hundred and Ninety-Five Million, Four Hundred and Eighty-Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety-One Naira, Four Kobo.
A release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, said that the three contracts, which have completion period of four months each, will be mobilized with thirty percent advance payment that must be covered by an APG from a reputable commercial bank.
