The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka, Dr. Joe Akabuike has expressed the commitment of the hospital to give Ndi Anambra the best medicare in 2023 for the benefit of the state.

 

Dr. Akabuike gave the assurance while defending the 2023 budget estimate of the teaching hospital before the Anambra state House of Assembly committee on Health in Awka.

House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that Dr. Akabuike explained that the hospital will be strengthened in the areas of capacity of human resources, equipment, and attitude of workers to work in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s mantra of building a livable and prosperous Anambra State.

 

The Chief Medical Director who emphasized the importance of good health to man, called on the people of the State to always go for medical checks to avoid sudden death.

He urged the state government to increase the budget of the teaching hospital for enhanced performance in 2023.

 

Meanwhile, the defense of the 2023 Appropriation bill by Ministries, Departments and Agencies has ended in Awka.

 

Addressing journalists at the end of the exercise, the Chairman of Anambra State House of Assembly committee on Finance and Appropriation, Honourable Obinna Emeneka, disclosed that the meeting afforded them the opportunity to review revised budget of 2022 and scrutinize the 2023 Appropriation bill to justify whatever amount Ministries, Department and Agencies are proposing for 2023 in order to achieve a realistic budget.

Honourable Emeneka said their findings showed that the 2023 Appropriation bill will meet the yearnings of the people, bring disruptive change in governance which will translate to massive infrastructural development in the state.

 

The lawmaker commended all the standing committees of Anambra State House of Assembly that interfaced with every ministry for doing a thorough job.
