Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Anambra State chapter has honoured the General Overseer and Founder of Tree of Life Gospel Ministry, Nanka, Most Reverend Jerry Dada-Obi, with ‘Ecumenism Excellent Leadership’ Award.
Also presented to Most Reverend Dada-Obi was ‘Messenger of Peace’ award from National Peace Award Commission, Abuja; delivered by the State Chairman of CAN, Venerable Joseph Nweke.
It was gathered that Most Reverend Dada-Obi, being a member of the Organization of African Indigenous Church, a block of CAN, does not segregate, but shows peace and oneness to all; bearing in mind that all are in to win souls for Christ, and that in heaven there is no denomination; rather only one supreme being.
During the award ceremony other church leaders, members of his church and other affluent members of the society gave testimonies of the roles being played by Most Reverend Dada-Obi, which according to them, speak volumes and are geared towards entrenching unity and making evangelism and the heavenly race easier.
While presenting the awards to Most Reverend Dada-Obi, the State Chairman of CAN, Venerable Nweke, disclosed that Most Reverend Dada-Obi has promoted and played vital roles in the church, for which CAN as a body found him worthy to appreciate his efforts.
He further described the awards recipient as a philanthropist, lover of people, social mobilizer; who has made tremendous efforts, calling on other church leaders to emulate his open heartedness and benevolence.
Expressing delight over the honour bestowed on him, the General Overseer of Tree of Life Gospel Ministry, Nanka, Most Reverend Dada-Obi, maintained that his call was divine, a reason he has continued to uphold the teachings of Christ, especially in promoting peace, humility and true worship of Christ.
He admonished other church leaders to go back to the drawing board and seek God’s face, saying that all the challenges being faced in today’s society is part of what the church leaders dish out, advising that they should de-emphasis preaching prosperity; but fear of God and all his precepts in order to draw men back to Christ.
Also appreciating CAN for the honour, the Secretary General of Nanka Community, Mr. Pius Umejiofor testified that their brother, Most Reverend Dada-Obi, is indeed a spiritual father to all; as he has continued to render help, proffer solutions to problems and championing peace for the progress of Nanka and beyond.
Also speaking, another stakeholder in Nanka, Chief Ebo Nwankwo, said God created Most Reverend Dada-Obi for a purpose, which he said he is fulfilling, describing him as a peace maker and great philanthropist whose call on promoting peace speaks volume, calling on others in the Lord’s vine yard to toe his path.
The Mother General of the church and wife of the General Overseer, Mrs Abuoma Dada-Obi, was also recognized and honoured by CAN as ‘Kingdom Builders’ for her excellent roles in building church, while carols heralding the Christmas for CAN, presentations and other side attractions climaxed the program.
