The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Reverend Prosper Amah, has charged various families to inculcate the teachings of the church in their children.

 

Speaking on ABS Radio programme, Nzuko Anambra, Bishop Amah maintained that parents should be blamed for any shortcomings of their children.

 

He said that children, as future leaders of the society, need to be properly guided and trained to secure a bright future for them.

 

The Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop, who spoke on the essence of charity and alms giving during and after festivities, cautioned people against using acts of charity to play politics.

 

He disclosed that since acts of charity is a thing of the heart, it needs not to be publicized by the benefactor.

 

Right Reverend Prosper Amah, who spoke on the topic, ‘Charity and generosity’, regretted that people are worshipping money and those who made it through wrong means, and called on government at different levels to make the teaching and learning of moral instructions compulsory in schools and colleges in order to improve the moral tone of the society.

 

He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for declaring state of emergency on roads, which he noted will improve vehicular and human movements in the state, and urged the Governor to remember the road that links Atani with Ozubulu in its road rehabilitation exercise; to give the people of the area a sense of belonging.

 

Bishop Amah, who described ingratitude as one of the sins of the end time, urged those that are doing charity not to be deterred by the ingratitude of their beneficiaries, but to remain focused in what they are doing because, according to him, God is whom they are doing it for.

 

He called on people to always pray for those in leadership positions to enable them deliver on their mandates.
