People of Awka North Local Government Area have expressed satisfaction with the massive construction work on going on the twenty-six kilometers, Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu-Ugbene-Awbaofemmili road.
The Commissioner for Works Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma inspected progress of work on the road and expressed satisfaction with pace and quality of work done so far.
Works commenced in October on the twenty-six kilometers Amansea-Ebenebe-Ugbenu-Ugbene-Awbaofemmili, with earth work along Amansea axis of the road.
Two months after, the level of progress recorded on the road was impressive as the road has become motorable from Amansea to Awbaofemmili.
Also, stone base has been laid on the road from kilometer eleven to thirteen, while earthwork continued up to kilometer nineteen, which is in front of Community Secondary School, Ugbenu.
Men, equipment and materials owned by the GELD construction company were seen at various points doing various degrees of work.
Speaking after inspecting the progress of work, the Commissioner for Works Engineer Okoma said it is possible because of Governor Soludo’s dedication and steadfastness in achieving his set goals.
According to Engineer Okoma, Anambra state government under Professor Soludo is determined to ensure accessibility and connectivity among communities in the hinterlands and urban cities.
While describing the move as a game changer and a new dawn for road infrastructure in Anambra state, Engineer Okoma commended the contractor for the speed and quality of work done so far, not minding that the project has eighteen months timeline to be completed.
On his part, the Site Manager, Engineer Faadi Azzaz, said he is ready to deliver the job according to specifications, adding that he has the capacity to give Anambra state government the best so that the durability of the road would meet expectations of the people.
He thanked the Governor for trusting him with the responsibility and assured that he will not be disappointed.
Some residents of Ugbenu including Pastor Ifeanyichukwu Okezie, Mrs Eucharia Nweke and Mrs Eunice Oziora, were full of appreciation to Governor Soludo for remembering them after so many years of hardship and failed promises from politicians.
They prayed God to bless and give him the grace to achieve his desire for Ndi Anambra.
