As the importance of education cannot be over emphasized and any effort to improve learning and conducive atmosphere for students to gain a brighter future is considered paramount, the Amalgamated Estates 3-3 Community Association, Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Council Area has organised a fifty-million-naira fund raising to build a Secondary School and a Community Hall in the area.
The event also featured investiture of patrons and presentations of award of honours to different personalities who have in one way or the other contributed to the growth and development of the area.
3-3 axis, Nkwelle Ezunaka has never seen the presence of any public secondary school and the school that will be built by the association that connects all the estates in the area will be the first attempt to cite a secondary school in the area.
The secondary school when completed will be handed over to the government to manage.
In an address of welcome, the President of Amalgamated Estates, Honourable Simeon Ogude said that their vision was powered by the dire need for public secondary school in the area that will take care of the indigent among them whose wards travel far daily in search of education.
Honourable Ogude noted that their objective is to attract government attention and set up a security outfit that will operate along their major roads appealing to the present administration in the state to give attention to the erosion menace, landslide and power outage in the area.
In his speech, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwudum laments lack of governments presence in the area, stating that all the developmental projects, road construction and power supply were self-help projects even as he said it is necessary that the political class should join hands with them to give their children a better future.
Speaking shortly after his investiture as the patron of the association, Bishop EC Obiora of Life of Faith Ministry, on behalf of other patrons, extolled the president, Honourable Ogude for his efforts in seeking for the progress and development of their area.
Also appreciating Honourable Ogude and his team, the Otuocha Area Commander, Nigerian Police Force, Mr Fasugba Tope on behalf of those that received different awards, assured them of security of life and property of the area and urged them to secure and protect any project or infrastructure built in their communities.
