Anambra State Commissioner for Environment, Engineer Felix Odimegwu has bagged a doctor of philosophy degree in business administration from the UNIZIK Business School, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
The Commissioner was among notable distinguished Nigerians, who defended their thesis in Awka after completing their academic programme in three years.
Speaking shortly after his defence on revenue generation, Engineer Odimegwu explained that his research topic “ Digital Technology and Revenue Generation” was born out of his quest to close up the gap in the revenue service of the state which he discovered during his days as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Anambra State on Revenue Generation and expressed hope that his research work will assist both federal and state governments to ensure effective revenue generation and collection.
He noted that as an academic tool, the research seeks to update the revenue system of the state for increased revenue generation and thanked the school and Governor Soludo, whose interest for quality research and update in knowledge motivated him into seeking for new ideals and modernization of issues facing humanity.
Another notable politician, who successfully defended his research work was the former Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Harford Oseke, who defined education as key to success, noted that such research works are essential to providing solutions to societal needs.
Speaking on the topics of the thesis, the external examiner, Professor Samaila Mande, described them as trending, contemporary and relevant to societal development.
