Dr Francis Owoh of Umuatulu Village Enugwu-ukwu,in Njikoka Local Government Area has been installed as a National Patron of the People’s Club International.
The ceremony held at the country home of Dr Owoh attracted the traditional ruler of Enugwu-ukwu,Igwe Raph Ekpe,his cabinet chiefs, titled men, members of People’s Club of Nigeria from within and outside the country and friends and well-wishers.
In a holy mass preceding the event,a visiting priest, Reverend Father Chidebele Ozumba, explained that the occasion was to thank God for the installation of Dr Owoh as patron of the People’s Club International and pointed out that his philanthropic nature singled him out for the honour.
Reverend Father Ozumba used the opportunity to appeal to well-meaning Ndi Anambra to use the period of Christmas to show the love of Jesus Christ to their neighbours.
For Igwe Ekpe, the celebrant is a man of honour, and very generous and prayed for the continued existence of the club.
Installing Dr Owoh as a National Patron of the club, its National President Chief Joseph Ilonze, explained that he was found worthy to be installed because of his outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the club.
He mentioned the main objective of the club as to help humanity, and philanthropic in its entirety and added that these are also qualities they look out for in people the club installs as patrons.
In his response, Dr Owoh, appreciated the club for finding him worthy of the honour and promised that he will continue the charitable work for which he is known.
He also appreciated all his guests for finding out time to grace the occasion.
For a very good friend of the celebrant, Chief Ralph Nwandu, Dr Owoh should not relent in playing a fatherly role to the club.
