Politics is termed by many a “dirty game” for different reasons. But an approach from another dimension may reveal that it is not necessarily dirty but a variable that its outcome is dependent on different approaches and circumstances at the moment. It is high time our people digested this dimension of thinking.

Mirage popularity may not necessarily score the goal, but most often technicalities play the desired roles. You cannot build on a porous ground and expect a resilient mansion. A recall is needed to be made here. The sad and nostalgic memories of the Nigeria-Baifra war is a handy reminder. The outcome of the war, sadly despite an acclaimed national consciousness of reconciliation and reconstruction, has remained the bane of the Igbo in national politics. Not just in national politics but in clinching the number one seat in the federation.

The Nigerian structure had been coded to delude those who do not know. One of our sons who we take pride in his legacy and a born philosopher, the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu did not allow himself to be deluded. Instead, after seeing the rough paths and the land mines set for the Igbo man in the Nigerian Polity and as one who has experienced the bitter pills in dialogues and wars, decided that instead of wallowing in the hallucinations of those who never loved Ndị Igbo, there was need for a nearer and sure political template. This was how the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA became the vehicle for the fulfillment of the Igbo agenda. It is, therefore, paramount to note that as far as we are in the era of political party system, APGA is, and remains, the only sure bet for the South East and Ndị Igbo. For as far as Nigeria’s political structure is not amended before the general elections, the only security that is guaranteed is when the people of the region and their leaders embrace APGA by voting her in all elective positions.

Today, APGA remains the third largest political party in Nigeria and keeps getting stronger. The party in the last over a decade and half has demonstrated distinction in accountability in the management of public wealth. It has remained steadfast in showing the light of good governance and has promoted people oriented and centered governments. These, at a time that other political parties through their elected officials pilfered and castrated our national commonwealth and their states’ purse with impunity. The All Progressives Grand Alliance is today the poster party for the transformation of Anambra State from a pariah state to the destination for foreign and local investment. The party showed an example of a Nigeria that has worked, is working and that will work. APGA is tested and trusted.

Thank God for our Solution Governor who is not just sustaining the tradition but as well raising the bar. Thanks to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his think home philosophy and made in Anambra mantra which still keeps the lone party alive. Thanks to the APGA presidential candidate, Prof Peter Umeadi, a true christian of impeccable status. Thanks to all APGA candidates for standing firm with our home based political template.

This is a call on all our church, market, youth and women leaders, and Ndi Igbo in general, to remember that once beaten is twice shy and that a stitch in time saves nine. Lets us be wise this time and do not allow ourselves to be lured off our senses by any form of sentiments. We must remember that it is not how the bitter kola sounds in the mouth that determines its sweetness. Ndị Igbo, may we not be bedeviled by the lost- mantra of “had I known”. Let’s support Prof Peter Umeadi, the Presidential candidate of APGA and all the candidates of the party in this general election.

May God continue to direct Ndi Igbo right!
