In its bid to encourage and reward members’ exemplary practice and uplift pharmacy practice in the state, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, Anambra State Chapter, has honoured some of its distinguished members.

 

The awards were presented to deserving members during the fourth edition of the association’s annual dinner banquet, awareness and interactive forum with members, friends and well-wishers of the association.

Addressing the gathering, the state chairman of the association, Pharmacist Josephat Obasi, expressed gratitude to members, who engaged in different forms of educational researches in the outgoing year which he believed, will help to sharpen their skills.

 

While saying that the importance of the event is enormous, Pharmacist Obasi explained that it avails them the opportunity to interact, assess and improve on their profession.

Congratulating the state PSN, the state Commissioner for Power and Water Resources, Engineer Julius Chukwuemeka, reminded them that the pharmaceutical sector is one of the core interests of the Soludo administration evident in the early step government took to lay the foundation for the Co-ordinated Wholesale Drug Center in Oba and employment of more pharmacists in the health sector.

 

While enjoining the association to intensify efforts to end the activities of quacks, Commissioner Chukwuemeka commended them for their interest in research which he described as the only tool for rapid growth.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the chairman on the occasion, Mr. Ben Nwofor stressed the need for continuous updating of knowledge base, while taking time to train younger pharmacists.

 

In his remark, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu, commended the association for achievements recorded over the years, pointing out that their job goes beyond administration of drugs but a guide between the patient and the doctor in achieving the desired results.

 

Correspondent Chibuzo Obidike reports that Sir Chido asked them to leverage on the vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in transforming the state into a livable, prosperous, smart, clean, and secured homeland, assuring them of continuous partnership of the station.
