Anambra State Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Entertainment, Mr. Don Onyenji, has called on Ndi Anambra and all Nigerians to go get their permanent voters cards, PVCs, from their respective local government headquarters, and be ready to vote the right candidates who would work for the good of the masses in the 2023 general elections.
He made the call at Idemili North Local Government Headquarters in Ogidi; while receiving a meritorious award from the Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Idemili chapter.
The Commissioner, while commending ASATU in the area for organizing such event, said it is an evidence that there is love and togetherness among the various communities in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas, which, according to him, is the message of Governor Chukwuma Soludo aimed at ensuring peaceful Anambra State.
He urged Ndi Anambra to vote APGA candidates at the state and national assembly elections; to enable them to assist Governor Soludo in making the state livable and prosperous mega city.
On her part, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs. Amaka Obi, called for rotation of political positions; both at the state and federal levels, and reechoed the call on Ndi Anambra to vote APGA candidates at the state and national elections for a better Anambra State.
In a speech, the traditional ruler of Uke community, Igwe Charles Agbala, said the award to Commissioner Onyenji was in recognition of his efforts in putting Idemili and Igbo land on the global map, and thanked Governor Soludo for giving the Commissioner opportunity to serve.
While calling on Ndi Igbo to help develop Igbo land by bringing back their investments home, Igwe Agbala called on Nigerians to join hands and elect an Igbo man as the President of Nigeria; to rebuild the country using God-given talents.
In his remark, the National President of ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo, said the program was organized to thank God for giving Ndi Idemili illustrious sons who have distinguished themselves in their areas of endeavors, and to appreciate them for their contributions towards the development of Idemili and Igbo land in general.
The event attracted people from all the communities in both Idemili North and South Local Government Areas.
