Christmas is one celebration everyone anticipates. It marks the annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world, incorporating various Christians, pre-Christian and secular customs.
People have different views and perceptions about Christmas preparation and the ceremonies that come with the festive season. So many persons consider Christmas to be the perfect time to spend with family and loved ones while others feel it is a special moment to take up a new project, make vows and New Year resolutions that would effect positive changes in their lifestyle.
Christmas preparation could be very tedious, stressful and tasking. These preparations depend on what you planned out for the celebration. It could be to attend a gathering with extended family or friends, buy gifts for friends or family, put up the Christmas decorations, send Christmas or holiday cards to friends and well-wishers, make and give homemade gifts and food, attend religious services on Christmas Eve or day and so many others.
The preparations one make for this season and the financial resources it will take go a long way to either stir up the feeling of excitement or sadness. Mostly, the sadness comes from being unable to meet up with one’s expectations and targets. Such a person can be overwhelmed with the burden of how to celebrate the event in the most memorable way especially as they see others buy new cars, wears, celebration marriage and new houses. This could make them feel left out and all this thought could cause a total breakdown in the spirit of celebration.
However, an understanding of the real essence of the celebration will help one to moderate how he or she spends or would like to spend during the season.
One must be reminded that Christmas is about celebrating Jesus Christ and the gift of salvation he gave to us. The best way to prepare for Christmas is to take your time to reflect on the meaning and significance of the birth of Christ. The celebration will also help you spend quality time to count your blessings in the passing year. With that, you will be able to know that it is not about just the things you could or could not afford for the celebration that matter.
It is also a period to be a cheerful giver because the joy of giving is far greater than that of receiving. When you give, you attract blessings to yourself.
Finally, engage in any activity that would make you happy, be more cost effective and still fit into the spirit of the season. You can start a family tradition that has to be inspiring and motivational such as reading different Bible verses and playing different instruments. The primary objective will be to make the season a remarkable one irrespective of whether there are huge resources available or not. What matters is the shared joy with family.
