The Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Uchendu, has embarked on inspection of the ongoing re-painting of Orumba South Local Government Secretariat Headquarters at Umunze.
The project, being singlehandedly sponsored by Prince Uchendu to support the Governor
Chukwuma Soludo, in achieving a livable homeland, is in addition to palliative works he is doing on some roads in various communities in the area.
Staff reporter, Njideka Okoye, reports that people of the area, including Chief Emeka Agba from Akpu, Hohourable Uchenna Ibeh, and the Supervisory Councilor for Work in the council, Mr. Samuel Oguagbaka, testified that such project has not been undertaken in Orumba South headquarters, where a Transition Committee Chairman will embark on and fund a project of the council with personal money, describing it as a way of giving back to the society.
They maintained that Governor Soludo has succeeded in changing the narratives in Anambra political system for the benefit of all.
Speaking to the ABS after inspecting the projects, Prince Uchendu, who explained that he donated his two “earth machines” to make the palliative works easier and achievable, said the gesture is in response to the directive of Governor Soludo to all Transition Committee Chairmen to carry out palliative works on some roads in their areas.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the Akpu road, which he said will, on completion, enhance free and easy passage of flood during rainy season, as well as free movement of vehicles.
Earlier before the road inspection, the Orumba South Transition Committee Chairman, Prince Uchendu, had interactions with Ndi Nze na Ozofrom Ogboji community, who were in his office on a courtesy visit.
The group led by their Chairman, Nze Okechukwu Anaeto, said their visit was to congratulate Prince Uchendu on his appointment as the Transition Committee Chairman of the council, and thanked Governor Soludo for finding their son worthy of the appointment, as well as his good works in the state.
They called the attention of the Governor to the abandoned road project between Ogboji, Ndiokolo and Ndiokpaleke communities, which they said also serves as major road through which agricultural produce are taken to the market.
Responding, Prince Uchendu thanked Ndi Nze na Ozo for the visit, and promised to serve to the best of his ability, reminding them that the Achina – Onneh – Agbudu road has been awarded by the state government.
