Ahead Christmas celebration Persons Living With Disabilities and the less privileged individuals in Anambra State and beyond have received succour from Joy and Compassionate Love International Foundation including assorted food items and toiletries.

 

The Christmas party held at ABS Onitsha field attracted various people from different care centres and street beggars, including students of Basden Memorial Special Education Centre Isulo, REDOT Ozubulu, Divine Mercy Home Ozubulu, Sisters of the Needy Fegge, Onitsha, among others.

Some of the items distributed at the party were bags of rice, noodles, cooking oi, toiletries and lots more.

 

Addressing the beneficiaries, the Founder, Joy and Compassionate Love International Foundation Mrs. Theresa Okpara, noted that the year has been a tough one for people, but God came through at the eleventh hour.

She stated that the annual event is an avenue to reach out to the needy and give them a sense of belonging; as the yuletide approaches, and appreciated God, her sponsors and all who contributed to the success of the event.

 

Speaking to the ABS, a Catholic priest, Reverend Father Ferdinand Nnajiofor, Secretary of Joy and Compassionate Love International Foundation, Mr Afam Ezechukwu, Catholic Women Organization, CWO President of Holy Name Parish, Umuchu, Mrs Chinyere Ezeakacha, said it takes someone with a heart of gold to remember the needy, especially in present hard time, adding that Mrs. Okpara, through the gesture, has wiped tears and mended broken hearts, and prayed God to bless her beyond measures.

Some of the beneficiaries who were seen dancing and chanting songs of praise to the foundation, including Mrs. Angela Ilika, Mr. Christian Nze and Anderson Onyemechi, said the items they were given are a huge relief to them, pointing out that since 2006 when the foundation began their charity work, they have been consistent.

 

They appreciated Joy and Compassionate Love International Foundation for remembering them again despite the harsh economy, and prayed that they will never lack.
