Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Okwy Igwegbe, has charged workers in the state to distinguish themselves in their areas of assignment; for them to be recognized and rewarded.
Barrister Igwegbe, who gave the charge at the end-of-the-year party organized by the state Ministry of Lands at its headquarters in Awka, commended the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Professor Offornze Amucheazi, for reforming and improving service delivery in the ministry.
She explained that part of her plans for the state workforce is to reward hard work, which she noted that the Lands Commissioner is already implementing, noting that the negative perception of people about the ministry has changed since Professor Amucheazi took over administration of the ministry.
On his part, the state Commissioner for Lands, Professor Amucheazi, while commending his staff for improving on their attitude towards service delivery, promised to organise trainings and workshops for them within and outside the state and country; to further improve their capacity.
He encouraged staff of the ministry to continue doing their best in repositioning the ministry; to enable it contribute in building a livable and prosperous Anambra state.
The Commissioner thanked the Head of Service, Barrister Igwegbe, for contributing towards improvement and development of the ministry, after which he presented “Key Contributor Award” to the Head of Service; in recognition of her contributions.
some other staff of the ministry, who distinguished themselves in their various areas of assignment, were also presented with “Performance Awards”, while Mr. Bartholomew Uzoegbunam, who received “Outstanding Performance Award”, was also given a cash gift of two hundred and fifty thousand naira at the event that had the presence of the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Edwin Ejike.
