As Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor has urged Nigerians to use the opportunity offered by the season to love one another and live together in peace.
In his Christmas Message, Right Honourable Okafor enjoined politicians and religious leaders to be more statesman-like, law abiding and place greater interest of the country above all personal or sectional interests.
The Speaker who commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his giant efforts in ensuring adequate security of lives and property of Ndi Anambra and for a peaceful Christmas and New Year Celebrations, appealed to the citizenry to always give the governor the needed support.
He said that since Jesus Christ preached and ensured peace among people and nations, Christians and non-Christians should pursue peace at all times and shun acts capable of disuniting the country.
While wishing Ndi Anambra a happy Christmas celebration, Right Honourable Okafor urged them to intensify prayers for the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
