The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke has expressed worry over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship, leading to loss of lives and property.

 

Cardinal Okpalaeke who expressed the displeasure in his Christmas message said he is encouraged by the resilience of the people and collective resolve not to be broken down, while appreciating the level of faith, courage, determination and willingness of not giving up.

 

He urged Nigerians to remain firm despite challenges they are facing.

 

Disclosing that Christmas is one of those moments to strengthen man’s grip on God and reflect on his love for humanity, Cardinal Okpalaeke explained that Christmas is a celebration of love.

 

He said that the season is a time the human vulnerability and frailty embraces and unites with the perfection and holiness of God in the person of Jesus Christ.

 

Cardinal Okpalaeke said the love shown to mankind in Jesus Christ is a challenge for everyone to be worthy ambassadors of love in the world, and move away from their comfort zone and express their love to their brothers and sisters, especially this Christmas season.
