The Church of the Pentecost, Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area has been dedicated by the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim who led other bishops and the clergy to the event.

 

The new church building was financed by a philanthropist and parishioner of the Church, Prince Arthur Eze.

The dedication service drew captains of industry, community and church leaders from different denominations including the Anglican Bishop of Niger West, Right Reverend Johnson Ekwe, his Mbamili counterpart, Right Reverend Obiora Uzochukwu, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor of Awka Catholic Diocese, and the traditional ruler of Ukpo, Igwe Robert Eze,as well as Chief Emma-Bishop Okonkwo.

Justice Okechukwu Okeke, the Chancellor of Awka Diocese led the legal team to the dedication service.

 

Performing the function, Archbishop Ibezim said this is the time for children of God to pray more fervently for themselves as the year will be a time of God’s fulfillment of His promises to his children.

For the benefactor of the church building project, Prince Eze, the project is part of his ways of giving thanks to God for his provision and sustenance, promising that he will continue to use his resources to expand the kingdom of God, empower the poor and impact people’s lives.

 

The dedication service featured different choir renditions by different choir groups that attended the service.
