Anambra youths have been called upon to leverage on various opportunities and platforms created by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration for them to become self-reliant, progressives and meaningfully engaged.

 

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra State Small Business Agency, ASBA, Sir Clement Chukwuka made the call during the maiden edition of Umueze Awaji Youth Summit, held at Umueze village hall Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area.

 

The summit was organized by Umueze Progressive Youth Forum, Isuofia.

In his lecture on accessing and utilizing government opportunities in business, Sir Clement listed some of the government opportunities for Anambra youths, to include skill acquisition, moral reorientation, destiny reawakening and access to finance.

 

He further disclosed that some of the platforms created for the youths to engage themselves towards effective entrepreneurial activities in a quest for livable and prosperous venture in the state are through One Youth Two Skills Programme , Talent Hunt and Development, Anambra Digital Tribe Programme, various Agricultural blueprints initiatives, vibrant sporting activities and access to finance via ASBA among others.

Thanking the Soludo government for the various projects towards youths’ development, he asked the youths to discover their talents and maximize the opportunities, and reminded them of the diverse opportunities they can develop themselves, if they are passionate, entrepreneurial driven and focused.

 

Sir Clement also explained provisions for accessing ASBA micro credit funds, such as provision of good business plans, formation of co-operative societies and provision of suitable guarantors among others, while revealing that the funds are nearly interest free.

In a remark, the Chairman of Umueze Village Union, Isuofia, Chief Chukwuka Nwafor, said that majority of the youths do not have targets and vision in life as they make money daily but lacks proper management, charging the youths to key into these opportunities provided by the government for productive ventures.

 

 

 

Also speaking, the Umueze Youth Chairman Mr. David Ezeokafor said the motive behind the summit was to bring together youths of the village, and get experts who can help them with knowledge and ideas of accessing and utilizing government opportunities.

 

He encouraged the youths to put into practice what they have learnt and take seriously the various programmes and opportunities of the present government, in order to achieve their aspirations .

 

Questions from Messrs Uchenna Nwankwo, Kenneth Okafor and Kenneth Okonkwo on how to access government loans and grants, formation of co-operative and partnership and talent discovery were tackled by Sir Clement Chukwuka.
