Awka Indigenes in the Diaspora Union has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for all his efforts towards developing the State especially in the area of upholding the sanctity of the traditional institution.
In a statement made available to Newsmen, Awka Indigenes in the diaspora union extolled the Governor for his bold intervention in ensuring that peace is restored in Awka traditional Institution.
The group commended the Governor for the homage he paid to the oldest man, Otuchalu Awka, during his installation at the Awka civic centre as well as the appointment of their illustrious son Mr Ossy Onuko as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority ACTDA, which proves the sincerity and love of the governor in developing Awka the State capital.
The group in a statement signed by the Chairman council of elders Chief Kenneth Molokwu and President-General Chief Gabriel Nwosu and Secretary-General Sir Chukwuma Mogbo re-assured Governor Soludo that they are solidly behind him towards repositioning Awka the State capital.
The group called on the government to seek ways of ending the incessant killings of youths in Awka, which they said has made the people start living in fear.
Awka indigenes in the Diaspora union extolled the traditional ruler of Awka Obi Gibson Nwosu for the peaceful way he has been piloting the affairs of Awka Community calling for its sustenance.
