The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anambra State, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu has charged youths to serve as Independent National Electoral Commission’s Vanguard in their various Communities for a Free and peaceful Polls in the State.
Dr Agwu made the appeal during a sensitization meeting for Community Youth Leaders from the one hundred and seventy-nine Communities in Anambra State at the INEC Headquarters in Awka yesterday.
She Commended the impressive turn out of Youths during the just concluded Continuous Voters Registration Exercise and urged them to sustain the zeal and exhibit their strength by coming out en-masse to Vote during the Polls.
Dr Agwu disclosed that the Youths Constitute over sixty-five million out of the ninety- three million Voters that will decide the 2023 Election, saying that they will determine the Election outcome if the number is turned into Votes to elect the leaders of their Choice.
The INEC Boss identified the role of youth in the Election project as inestimable and highlighted that they not only provide a ready and reliable source of manpower who serve not only as Election Adhoc staff but also as the custodians that protect election materials and ensure safety in their communities.
Contributing the INEC Head of Administration, Mr. Sunday Nwegbe while reiterating the Commissions readiness to conduct a free and credible Election in a conducive environment, urged youths to be the Commissions foot soldiers in their various Communities.
