The Governor-elect of Rotary International District 9142, comprising all the states in the South East, as well as Cross River and Akwa-Ibom States, Dr Ekan Emah has charged those in leadership positions to always aspire to impact positively on the lives of the people they are serving.
Addressing rotary leaders, including Assistant Governors Designate during the 2022/2023 Midyear Assembly in Enugu, Dr Emah, who described leadership as a sacrifice, stressed the need for those in leadership positions to always give the people what they need.
He reminded those in leadership positions of the need to always conduct need assessment, with a view to giving those they are leading facilities that will be beneficial to them.
Dr Emah described leadership as a burden which comes with responsibilities, and urged rotary leaders not to relent in creating hope in the world.
Addressing the assembly, a past District Governor of Rotary International District 9142, Dr Dan Ajawara, who is also the district trainer, charged the Assistant Governors Designate appointed for the 2023/2024 Rotary year to be focused and resilient; especially in the areas of strengthening the clubs that will be assigned to them to superintend.
He charged Nigerians to emulate Rotary method of Leadership which centres of quality and impact driven, adding that a great leader is one who brings positive change.
The District Governor Nominee for the 2024/2025 Rotary year, Professor Austin Nnonyelu, who spoke on community development, urged those in leadership positions to always carry the people at the grassroot along in all their activities as according to him, the grassroot is the bedrock of any administration.
The District Governor of Rotary International, Dr Grace Okaro, who convened the Midyear Assembly, charged Rotarians to use their positions in bringing peace and development in their various areas.
Among those appointed as Assistant Governor’s Designate for the 2023/2024 Rotary year is a two-time President of Rotary Club of Awka, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor of the Anambra Broadcasting service, ABS.
