The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, in charge of Zone-13, Ukpo, Anambra State, Abutu Yaro, has alerted officers in the zone on the need for the zone to be safe during the forthcoming general elections.

In a statement signed by the Zonal Police Public Relations, SP Nkeiruka Nwode, the AIG described the two states under the zone as crime-infested states, hence the need for the personnel to step up their plans to ensure safety of members of the public ahead of the election day.

He urged police officers to reinforce policing activities within Ihiala, Uli and other volatile areas, even as he ordered twenty-four hours patrol within the zone, describing it as one of the vital economic corridors of Nigeria that must be protected.

AIG Yaro reminded police officers in the zone that the Zone-13 was not created for relaxation, and called for all hands to be on deck to ensure proper supervision and security of the zone.
