Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has restated that the three branches of government; the legislative, executive, and judiciary will continue to co-operate to create a livable and prosperous Anambra.

 

The Governor stated this at the swearing-in ceremony of Barrister Etomike Innocent Ndigwe, and Barrister Tagbo Chinwuba Anieto, as Judges of the Anambra State Judiciary

The ceremony held at the Executive Council Chamber, Government House, Awka, was part of efforts to lessen the current workload of judges in the state

 

Governor Soludo, who explained that security, law and order are top priorities that comprise first agenda; among five pillars of his administration, said the second agenda, which focus on infrastructure and economic transformation, cannot be carried out if the first agenda are not successfully carried out.

He congratulated the new members of Anambra judges, and expressed gratitude to God for their calling to public service as outstanding professional

 

Underscoring the importance of the duties of the judges, Governor Soludo further noted that creating jobs, raising money to make things run smoothly in the state, getting rid of touts and criminals on the street, making the legal system function, among other things, depend on the rule of law.

He assured that despite revenue constraint, his administration will make commitments for swift administration of justice in the state

 

Governor Soludo asked for an aggressive judiciary to cope with IGR revolution to raise money for the development of the state, even as he promised to resolve the issue of judges’ entitlements in phases, starting from next month, March

Earlier in her opening remark, the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Ifemeje, who presented the two nominees recommended by the Anambra Judicial Council for the appointment, reminded the nominees of the need to defend the constitution of Nigeria.

 

On his part, the Anambra State Chief Judge, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu  said the swearing-in ceremony was a special event aimed at achieving quick dispensation of justice in the state. a.h.e.w.s.t.e.y.ice in the state.
